Twilight Trail Running Series p/b Bushtukah

The Twilight Trail Running Series powered by Bushtukah is a four-event recreational trail running series hosted at Wesley Clover Parks in Kanata.

Designed to encourage trail running participation in the Ottawa area, this series offers two course options encompassing foundational and experienced running, ensuring accessibility for participants of all abilities. Come challenge yourself with our 5k experienced level course or try something new with our 2k foundational course. While timed ride metrics are available, the primary focus of the series is on fitness progression and fostering a sense of community. By emphasizing fun, inclusivity, and shared experiences, the series creates an opportunity for participants to connect with like-minded members of the local trail running community.

Schedule (staggered starts determined based on registration volume):

6:00pm: 2k (separate kids (5-12), youth (13-17), and adult (18+) start)

6:45pm: 5k (separate youth (13-17), and adult (18+) start)

Registration/Sign-in:
There will be NO on-site registration. All registrations must be made online. Please pick-up numbers on site and keep your bib and timing chip for each event.

Start Time:
(Note that depending on turnout, start times might be staggered around the designated start time)

12 yrs old and Under: 6pm (staggered start)
13-18 yrs old: 6:45pm (staggered start)
18 yrs and above: 6:45pm (staggered start)
15-18 yrs old (Advanced): 6:45pm (staggered start)
19 yrs and above (Advanced): 6:45pm (staggered start)

Event Pricing:

Timing Chip/Bib Pickup:
Timing chips and bibs will be provided and will be available for pick-up on-site prior to the event. Please allow yourself time to pickup the chip and bib before start time. Every participant must keep their chip for the entire season. Lost timing chips will need to be replaced at a cost of $5.

Event Parking:
We ask that all participants follow parking signs, and only park in the designated area.

Facilities:
Bakkers Trailblazers will be providing portable toilets if there are not any on site. We ask that participants use them, and not the grounds. Failure to do so will result in 1 warning and expulsion of participants for a second offence. No refund will be offered.

First Time Racers and Recon Laps:
For first time runners, Bakkers Trailblazers strongly recommends to do a recon lap of the course before the first event. Checking the course will help equip new runner with the right knowledge going into their first event.

Inclement Weather Policy:
All events will be held rain or shine. In the event of thunder and lightning, starts will be delayed until extreme weather has passed. In the event where the weather is too threatening (includes natural disaster, poor air quality), Bakkers Trailblazers will make a decision to cancel the event at least 2 hours prior to the first race start. No refund will be issued.
